SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment
Manufacturers Institute) with plans
for a show called SEMICON (SEMI
Convention) the organization is
being spearheaded by D. William
B. Hugle, president of Hugle Industries, Sunnyvale, and Fred Kulicke,
president of Kulicke and Soffa, Fort
Washington, Pa.” June 25th was given
as the scheduled date, but press time
was likely mid-May.
According to Hugle’s memoir, fifty-five companies attended the July
1970 meeting (exact date unknown),
